As a motor vehicle is probably your second biggest investment, it is only sensible to ensure that any repairs following accident damage, have been carried out correctly. Some of us will be well aware of the effect that accident damage, which may not have been your fault, has had on a vehicles resale value.
Quality of repairs obviously plays a substantial part in any such situation and a badly repaired vehicle would obviously command a lesser resale value than one which had been repaired to a good standard. Many insurance companies leave the final inspection of the vehicle to the client, and most will all have been presented with satisfaction notes to sign on collection of vehicles.
We have the facilities available to carry out both pre and post accident inspections, to confirm that the vehicle will be, or has been, repaired using suitable repair methods and to a serviceable and merchantable standard. It is the right of the insured to have their vehicle repaired to the merchantable standard in order to minimise the loss of value on disposal.
It is also possible, in certain circumstances, to claim Diminution in vehicle value.
